Check before you deal
Before you pay any firm for an investment or insurance product, check that it is regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS): type its name below to search our copy of the MAS Financial Institutions Directory, then confirm it on MAS's own directory and contact it only through the details MAS lists.
1. Is the firm in the MAS directory?
Nothing you type is stored or sent anywhere: the search runs in your browser against our copy of the MAS directory.
- Found here does not mean endorsed or safe. Check MAS's own directory before you pay anyone.
- Not found does not mean a scam. Single family offices are exempt and not listed, names change, and our copy may be out of date.
- Use the phone number and website in MAS's directory, not ones from an ad, a message or this site. Scammers clone real firms.

2. Check the person too
A real firm's name doesn't make the person real. Ask for their representative number and search it, or their name, on the MAS Register of Representatives. It shows which firm they represent and which products they may advise on. If they are not listed, don't deal with them.

MAS lists unregulated people and websites that may have been wrongly presented as regulated by MAS. Search the firm's name, the person's name and the website address. We don't check the alert list for you yet, so search it yourself.

Questions
- How do I check if an investment firm is regulated in Singapore?
- Search the firm's name in the MAS Financial Institutions Directory. A firm that may give financial advice is listed as a licensed financial adviser or as an exempt financial adviser, such as a bank, insurer or capital markets firm. Then check the person on the MAS Register of Representatives and both names on the MAS Investor Alert List.
- The firm is on the MAS directory. Is it safe to deal with?
- Not necessarily. Being listed means MAS regulates the firm; it is not an endorsement and says nothing about whether a product suits you. Scammers also copy the names of real firms, so contact the firm only through the phone number and website shown in the MAS directory.
- I can't find the firm. Does that mean it is a scam?
- Not on its own. Firms change their names, single family offices are exempt and not listed, and our copy of the directory may be out of date. Search MAS's own directory with a shorter part of the name. Until you can find the firm there, don't pay or transfer anything.
- Does this checker store what I type?
- No. The search runs in your browser against a copy of the MAS directory that loads with the page. Nothing you type is stored or sent to us or anyone else. We only count how many results a search returned, not what was searched.
About this page: the checker uses a copy of the MAS Financial Institutions Directory (MAS directory snapshot of 17 October 2026). It does not show a firm's contact details and does not link to individual MAS entries; use MAS's own directory for those. Nothing you type is stored or sent anywhere. This is general information, not financial advice.
